Pentti Hakala
Pentti Hakala graduated as an Interior Architect in 1982 and since that he has been designing furniture for several different manufacturers including Avarte, Inno, Lepoproduct, Martela, Korhonen and Mobel. Additionally he keeps on giving lectures in Aalto University, the School of Art and Design in Helsinki. During his career he has been awarded with many prizes and scholarships, most recently with an A. Kordelin Foundation's scholarship in 2010. "You cannot and you shouldn't make haste in this work. The world is full of good ideas and I usually work on them for years before the producer even sees a scale model, pictures or a prototype. The idea of a chair is thoroughly examined many times before the actual product development can begin."
